REDUCER WERE A FORCE OF NATURE EACH GIG, SOUND SYSTEM & EVENT  WAS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE A CHALLENGING AUDIOVISUAL LANDSCAPE

MANY OF THE BANDS LIVE TRACKS WHERE SPONTANEOUS ENERGY BOLTS SPARKING OFF EACH OTHER TO COALESCE INTO A SONIC PILE-DRIVER THAT ASSAULTED THE SENSES

IN YOUR FACE

IN YOUR MIND

IN YOUR SOUL

IN YOUR HEART

AT SOME GIGS THE AUDIENCE DANCE IN A FRENZY

AT OTHERS THEY LAY DOWN EN MASSE

WHAT IS HERE IS ELSEWHERE
WHAT IS NOT HERE IS NOWHERE
THE SOUND OF LOVE - THE LOVE OF SOUND

REDUCER GIG MEMORIES: "We Gigged Very Occasionally, really, until about '87 Then we started getting Better & Bigger Bookings from out of the Northampton Area, in Birmingham or Colchester, and small Towns like Leamington Spa - We Did This Gig There, It Was a Fucking Riot - We'd been Booked to play a Temple ov Psychik Youth Party - it was the 100 & Something Anniversary of Aleister Crowley's Birth, Leamington being his Birthplace - They'd Booked Spacemen 3 as the Main Act - on the Way There, some of the Band got a bit overly Fucked Up, so when We Arrived, there were Band Members Hanging Out the Back Door of the Van Throwing up...in Bravura I walk in All Cocky and "That's Rock n' Roll Baby..." and I meet the Promoter who was maybe a Little Timid or just Intimidated...anyway I thought I'd have a Laugh at His Expense by Pretending to be all Big Muso "Don't You Know Who We Are? We Don't Support No Fucker - We're Reducer - its Us or Them" - He ran off saying He Needed to Make a Phone Call, after about half an hour He came back & said that Spacemen 3 weren't coming - Fucking A! We're Headline Lads! However, in the Meantime I had to Get Them to Sober up and Get a Decent Soundcheck Done - It was worth it, the Sound Tech got what We were about, We were using Drum Machines a lot then & they need Pumping Up to the Level of a Drum Kit - both thru' the P.A. and in the Fold-Back more Importantly, or We couldn't Play in Time! - You Think that's Fucking Obvious, but Back Then You'd be Surprised just How Dumb Sound Techs were, also How Many of Them Were Quite Openly Anti-Drum Machines - You know, Old Fucks who Think They Know What Music Should Sound Like - The Same who Tried to Ban Synthisers from the Musicians Union - Hardly Believable Now, Anyway, for Once He was on it...We Fucked the Place Up Man - When We hit Sleng Teng the Whole Crowd Front to Back were Bouncing! Fucking Hundreds! That's the first time we got an encore - That felt good."
